Residence Program / Arcus Project 2009

The Artist-in-residence program of ARCUS Project which aims to support the artistic activities of emerging artists was launched in 1995 by Ibaraki Prefecture Government as its main organizer. In its 14 years history, ARCUS has invited 71 artists from 24 countries / regions, and supported their artistic projects and researches during the residence. A number of previous residency artists are now known as cutting edge artists in international art scene.

For the residency program in 2009, ARCUS calls the artist who
can think radically, experiment innovative ideas, and work with
progressive modes of expression.

 

Period of Residency:

  • Late August through December 09
  • 3 month minimum, 4 month maximum

Program provides:

  • Studio
  • Accommodation
  • Transportation fee fro travel to Japan
  • Allowance of $2500. CDN per month
  • Insurance
  • Studio Office Support

There are three steps in application process:

  1. Sending general information and essays online
  2. Uploading JPEG image(s)
  3. Mailing application materials.
