About RCAAQ

MANDATE

The Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec (RCAAQ) is a national advocacy organization whose mandate is to support, bring together, represent, and promote Quebec’s artist-run centres. To facilitate the dissemination of art within society, it supports research activities and artistic experimentation, and encourages self-management by artists. Since 1987, it has offered a continuing education program for both cultural workers and artists involved in artist-run centres. From its inception, the RCAAQ has become a major advocate for the visual arts in Quebec and the meeting point of a network spread across the province.

Réseau Art Actuel provides daily updates on contemporary art exhibitions, events, residencies, and publications from over 125 cities across Quebec and Canada. Bringing together a large group of partners such as exhibition centres, galleries, artist-run spaces, and specialized media, Réseau Art Actuel makes information for and about the arts community more visible and accessible.
