Artist-run centres are non-profit organizations, managed by a board of directors consisting mainly of artists, whose main activity is to foster research and the dissemination and production of work in the fields of visual arts, media arts, and interdisciplinary arts. They provide artists with spaces, equipment, services, research residencies, specialized resources, and offer the community activities such as exhibitions, conferences, debates, publications and documentation.
The RCAAQ offers a professional training and development program to workers involved in the management of artist centres.
The RCAAQ is the Réseau Art Actuel portal’s publisher and offers its members free promotion for the exhibitions and events.
